Chris Olson (6-4, 222, 4.82) of Wayne Hills, New
Jersey is a great example of a classic dropback quarterback. He
stands tall in the pocket and he has great vision of the football
field. His arm strength is very good and a lot of observers have
compared him to another Chris Sims, although he has not had
the same type of publicity.
Although he only runs a 4.8, on film, he looks a little quicker
and he does have good excapability skills when the pocket breaks
down. He can throw all ofthe passes well. In fact, on one play, he
threw a perfect 30 yard fade pattern for a touchdown and then came
right back on the next series and threw a perfect post pattern for
another touchdown. I really like this kid and his overall
potential.
As a junior, Olson passed for 1,976 yards and 24
touchdowns. These aren't extremely impressive stats, but his team
has a pretty good running back who eats-up a lot of yardage and they
run a pretty balanced offense.
Olson has scholarship offers from Penn State, Miami,
Northwestern, Virginia, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Duke, Boston College,
and Rutgers, and others are on the way.
