James Kanuch
James Kanuch
Junior To Watch -- RB/DB James Kanuch

By Michael Farrell
Date: 3/29/2001

Kanuch would be a very intriguing safety or cornerback, but Kanuch excels on offense. A physical runner, Kanuch is effective running between the tackles.

Name: James Kanuch

State: Pennsylvania

School: Westmont Hilltop HS

Position: RB/DB

Height: 6-2

Weight: 185

40 Time: 4.43

Schools Of Interest: Penn State, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana, Duke, N.C. State, UCLA, Maryland, Boston College, Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia.

ER Rating (out of five stars): ***

Comments: Junior To Watch James Kanuch is the reigning District Six 100 and 200-meter champ and has a superb combination of size and speed. He would be a very intriguing safety or cornerback, but Kanuch excels on offense. A physical runner, Kanuch is effective running between the tackles. However, his speed is truly a danger to defenses once he gets outside and he has enough moves to break long gainers consistently. He's already been offered by Penn State and numerous other offers should be coming soon. Has awesome defensive instincts (seven picks last season) and could also be an effective kick returner in college. One of the best players in the state of Pennsylvania.
