Procedure to Create the SMP/E Receive Job For a Base Tape

  1. Make note of the OPTIONS name and FMID from the generated RECEIVE job

    2. Look for OPTIONS(name) for the options name

    The FMID is the name in the SELECT statement

  2. Sign on to SMP/E
  3. Choose option 5 – Receive
  4. Choose option 2 – Function Tape
  5. Enter the options name and press <enter>
  6. Enter your source id in SOURCEID

    7. Suggest using something unique (similar to your zone name you used when you defined

    Your target and DLIB to your global)

    Enter your tape volume serial in VOLUME

    Enter <tape> in UNIT

    Enter <no> in FORMID

    Enter <no> in LIST

    Enter <no> in ALL

    Enter <yes> in SELECT specific SYSMODs

    Enter <no> in EXCLUDE

    Enter <no> in BYPASS APPLYCHECK

    Enter <no> in BYPASS ACCEPTCHECK

    Enter <no> in ZONEGROUP

  7. Press <enter>
  8. Enter FMID under SYDMODS or FMIDSETs
  9. Press <PF3>
  10. Press <PF3>
  11. Choose option E –Edit
  12. Add REGION=5M to EXEC card
  13. Add EXPDT=98000 to LABEL=(1,SL)

    14. You may want to SAVE the JCL to your own PDS for future reference

  14. Press <PF3>
  15. Choose option S – Submit
