Character Description

Guy Montag, is a guy who burns books for a living, but one day Clarisse McClellan appears and shows Montag there is more to life than burning books.

Clarisse McClellan, is montags neighbor.  She is a crazy 17 year old who loves to sit, walk, and watch people.  Clarisse makes Montag realize that he is not happy with himself and his life.

Mildred Montag, is Guy's wife, who sees society as a playground.  She has hair burnt by chemicals, her eyes with a kind of cataract, and her body is as thin as a praying mantis from dieting.  She, in the end, is responsible for turning in Montag.

Captain Beatty, is montags boss.  Beatty is a strong leader of the new society and is strict about the new laws.  He states that books only make people unhappy and thats why people should not read them.  Beatty is a well respected man . He is vary impressed with Montag because Montag reminds him of himslef when he was going through the same thing.

Professor Faber, a former English Professor who has been out of work for forty years, ever since liberal arts colleges were closed; white-haired, pale fragile.  Montag met Faber in a park one day.  Faber helps Montag when he is in trouble and helps him run from the Mechanical Hound.
