So, you want to know a little about me?

Well, let me see …

During my childhood in Germany, the greatest treat for me was a bedtime story read to me by my loving grandmother. She introduced me to the magic world of German and Scandinavian fairytales. My father, a professor of languages and a wonderful storyteller and puppeteer, inspired my young mind with his own stories as well as ancient legends and myths from around the world. No wonder, then, that I found myself drawing and writing at an early age to capture the rich heritage they were passing on to me. I attended art classes in Germany and later on in England, but never found the time to pursue my art as anything other than a hobby. Then my husband and I decided to emigrate from England to Canada and raise our two children in this country, which we have come to love. I continued to draw and paint in oil and had several, well received local exhibitions. However, the turning point came a few years ago when I discovered digital painting through Photoshop and the Wacom tablet. What an exciting journey … and I’m still traveling! Let me invite you to join me and discover a world where magic still happens and wishes do come true. Most of all, I hope you’ll enjoy my stories and illustrations as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.

What others say about Angelika

What can I say about Angelika? Talented beyond belief, and a wonderful lady. I met Angelika when she emailed me some advice for my own web site, and we became fast friends. She has continued to amaze me with her skill and enthusiasm for her work. Her art and writing are far more than just a way for her to earn money. They are a passion to her, which is obvious to anyone who looks at her pages and sees the magnificent and richly colored work she produces.
She captures the fairy tale world wonderfully, and her Moppel illustrations left me in wonder. I can't say there is any piece of her work I don't like. Truly, her hand makes magic of anything it touches….
