Cathy’s one of the other Pallet trainers who left on their journeys on the same day Ash and Gary did, meaning she’s also their rival. She’s very friendly and a nice girl, but she can get really mad at people, specially when they say bad things about her beloved Fire Pokemon.( we could say she gets on her “rage mode”, hehe^^) I have lots of pics of her and you can check them out in the Fanart section!

Prideshipping:

As I have said before, we, Prideshippers, believe that Gary Oak and Cathy Reynolds are in love and should be together. Within the next lines, I’ll try to explain a little about this cute beans couple^^ Mwah!

Cathy and Gary are both Pokemon trainers from Pallet Town, but they only get to meet each other a few weeks before the Indigo League championships (in the anime series, you know those two months Ash and Gary spend training in Pallet before the Indigo League starts? Cathy would also come back to Pallet for training and then they would meet. Mwah!^^) At first, they can’t stand each other, because Cathy finds Gary very snobbish and arrogant, and he thinks she’s too annoying and hysterical.

As time passes, they start being…um…civilized towards each other (and that’s huge progress^^;;), until Prof Oak asks them to join Ash and his friends in a journey around Johto, where they should battle new Gym leaders and then aim for the Johto Secret Pokemon League Championships. (the Secret Johto League would be a new kind of Pokemon League where trainers from the same town or city would have to team up and take turns as they fight for the 9 badges. Of course, we created that too^^;) Because of that, they’re forced to travel around together and then they eventually start liking each other, but none of them admit it, because they’re just too proud (hence the name Prideshipping^^;) to say they fell in love with a rival they used to hate so much. However, they can’t keep it secret for too long and, sooner or later, they tell each other how they really feel.

Of course I’m summarizing it a lot, but this is all better explained in my fan fiction series called “Cathy’s diary”, where we can clearly see those happenings through Cathy’s point of view as she writes them on her diary. (Sadly, I can’t put them on this site because I wrote them in Portuguese and it’s taking me a while to translate them to English… Gomen nasai^^;;) And there’s also my other fic called “Fighting for the Gold Heart”, (I tried to write this one as if it was an episode for the anime series^^) where they finally get together. Yay! ^_^ But I can’t post this one either, ‘cause I also wrote it in Portuguese… ^_^;;)

The “Greater than Everything” Trilogy

This was my first attempt to write a romance/drama/angst prideshippy fic. It is a lot different from what I have described above, but I was trying to imagine how it would be if Cathy and Gary had known each other since they were little kids and had been best friends since then. Besides, if I know myself as much as I think I do, I’m positive that, if I hadn’t changed the story, I would’ve got all excited about those little arguments they would have, and then I would’ve written the whole thing based on those funny funny fights, and then it would’ve been a comedy fic, not an angst/romance one. (I’m just too hyper, and you have no idea of how hard it was for me to write a serious fic ><;;)
