To America, My Home

I am an American and have always been proud.
I can remember my daddy in his uniform,
as a small child, I just thought everyone was proud
of being American. Then I remember seeing
friends leave for Viet Nam and the horrors of those
not coming home.

Having said that, I struggle to find the words to say,
about what has taken place in our great nation this 11th day
of September. Never would I fathom the evil that would take
innocent working people and end their lives for the sake of
making some sort of statement. I sit here and still cannot
make my mind believe that anyone could take the life of a two
month old baby or a mother to be, simply because they took the
wrong plane. Somehow my mind still keeps going over and over
the words why or how could anyone be this evil?

How many mothers, how many fathers will not be coming home
to their little children? How comfortable we have become with
life and taken our days so much for granted.

My heart was so touched to see Dr. Billy Graham stuggle
to the pulpit, with assistance, due to his illness.
How very moving it was to see Congress and House members
joined hand in hand during this terrible moment and unite
in singing God Bless America.

Words fail me when I want to say something about the
many firemen, policemen, health care providers and all
those assisting in the toil of trying to find victims.
I know that my heart says so very much to you that my
brain finds no words for. I sit in my home wishing I could
wipe your brow, offer you a hand or just reach out and hug
each of you for doing what I wish I could do! God will bless
each of you!!

I am a Christian and I thank Him for being there for me
during this time that I find so full of despair and heartache.
I cannot imagine anyone being able to cope without His very
Presence in their life.

I think of the American people as my big family.
We often don't agree with each other and sometimes
we fuss and argue about differing ideas. However, like
any family, we may choose to disagree with each other
but don't go picking on my brothers or sisters because
we are family and we stick together.

What I have to say to these workers of evil is this.
You know not what you have done. You have awakened the
the tiger and now you'll have to deal with what will come.
You cannot come into "our house" and destroy family without
judgement and justice to follow.
This is a Nation under God and He says over and over in His word
"Fret not thyself for evil doers, for they shall soon be cut down
as the grass and wither as the green herb." He will not let harm
to His children go unpunished. He is a merciful God and our
stronghold in the day of trouble.

You should be fearful for the whirlwind is coming and the
reaping is on it's way. For if God be for us, what can
man do unto us?

To my family of Americans, I say this, I love you
you are my brother, my sister and we will stand strong during
this time of despair and yet awakening of the true Spirit of
our RED, White, and Blue. We are many, but we are one! We
are each reaching out as only we know how to do and trying
in our way to just do something! I am reminded of the words
of Mother Teresa, even though I am not Catholic, I agree with
what these words say and mean.

We can do no great things..
only small things..with Great Love

From my heart to yours, Susan, Kindred Spirit..
