Angel Saved
How can she love the winged seraphs in heaven?
Snow white wings spread across the darkness
Reflecting back the light of day to shine into her world
Two loves in one life, tug-of-war.
She does not wish to forsake one for the other.
Angels in the darkness of consciousness
Keeping the path clear, may she never fall
Angel without wings, fallen to earth
Naked and without protection.
And from the fire rose the Sin of a Phoenix
Flames to scorch away her sins
The angel fallen, long forgotten
And in the garden her eyes rose into the sky
Giving thanks to love without time or place
Protectors in the night, wind beneath her wings
Though lost in her tragedy
Love carried her higher than an angel's wings ever could
And in her love, mortal happiness
Two seraphs, one of sin and one of fire
Memories are never lost, within the walls of her heaven
Then desire arrived, threatening to steal her wings back again
Huddled to love she clung to her future
Slowly desire faded beyond the walls of her garden
Content in her wingless world with her protection
She smiled up into the sky, warmth of reflection from white
The world was then brighter, lightened from within
From her back grew two wings, each part of her sin and her fire
Each made of love
