As One

She stands very still
the moon shining
against the water and rocks below,

The peacefulness
of the water rushing over the rocks
smoothed by time and water,
She wanted to be one with them
the way the water and the rocks
have become one,

She spread her arms wide
the moon sparkling
off the single tear on her cheek,
The thought of becoming one
with something...anything;

She threw herself
off the cliff
A perfect swan.
For one moment
one long moment
The moon held her silohuette
her hair flying
her back arched
her arms out,

She fell swiftly
gracefully
to the rocks below;
In an instant
the water rushed over her
Accepting her as a rock
smoothing her body with waves,

Right then
they became one.
