Fools
A man and a woman
Alone in garden shadows
In the bright light of day
The arch of the rose bush
Appears as a haven
A crown of thorns against the sky
They stand together
Lost in each other’s eyes
Remembering the past which burned
The recesses of their minds
The shadow of winter has
crossed
The heavenly path of these two strangers
Eternal solitude in the form of spring
Through rose-colored glasses they both see
To hide the darkness brooding here
Blind to hatred burning near
Jealousy has sparked the
tinder
For the lovers lost in time
For lovers once shall not forget
The one's who stole their sanity
A man and a woman crossed
paths one day
Without recognition or sympathy
For both were pained with love and destiny
But in their strife they failed to notice
A kindred coming near
Fools to let a new
love pass, savoring their fears.
