Rainy Days

Raindrops upon the paper
Fading black ink to blue
Smudging, smearing all the meaning
Making them uncomprehendable

The rain beats down fast
Words lost as soon as paper struck
My body is missed
But the paper attacked

Drenched ink, running out
Ball too lacquered with water
Like tears,
Like the cat on the porch

Fading from memory
Words lost in stain
I wish the rain would
Come back once again

Soak the paper
Erase the words
Strip from memory
Perhaps this is just absurd
