Sorrow
In the lengthened night
Of a hot September autumn
A woman stands alone
With sorrow by her side
Her silent estranged
partner
Never speaking, ever silent
With the sound of weeping
To keep her through the night
Death was soon to follow
For the sorrow laden lass
Plagued with silent echoes
Buried in forgotten past
Never feeling, never
seeing
The passion of the flame
Burning ever nearer
Longing for the stage
Curtains rise as columns
Sorrow laid to rest
Standing in the spot light
While the rest were laid to bed
And in that solemn ballad
Was the key to her release
Aching in the chamber
That had no lock or key
Bound to sorrow, laden
With fury deep inside
Soon was all forgotten
For the sweet September bride
A man was laid to rest
On the brightest of his days
While a woman left to cry
Slowly fades away
The garland starts to
wither
From the golden crown of hair
The priestess remains
For the beauty of her life
Sorrow her companion
Love her empty dream
Husbandry of sorrow
Aching with her need
