Being Worldly




There are so many people who live in this world today
They are so worldly and they forget God from day to day
They worry about the material things here upon the earth
They forget about the real value of spiritual things of worth
The great big house, the diamond rings, boats and fancy cars
These are the thing of the earth and they won't take us very far
What we should worry about is what the Lord would want us to do
To build up our spiritual growth and helping others too
We should concentrate on families and raising them right
Doing what pleases the loving God and staying in his light
If we can just imagine the things we'll get at the end
The mansions in Heaven and a place where we won't have to pretend
There will be no rich nor poor we will all be equal too
We'll inherit Gods greater blessings depending on what we do
While here on earth through good and bad
May we make choices that will be of good
Remembering the sick and poor and doing what we should
To help and bless others and learning to have compassion too
These are the greater things in life the things we ought to do
When this life has passed and gone and we leave this hemisphere
We'll then find ourself in a different place where money won't be there
Then we will find out then what really mattered most
The things of this world will now be of no material worth
Money wasn't meant to be for man to become rich
It was meant to help the poor and even the very sick
If we all could have been equal and not having more than the next
We'd have a much better world full of love and many days of happiness
But unfortunately it hasn't turned out to be that way in these latter days
Some are too greedy and can't depart from their worldly ways
It's ashame when you have to be in a place where there is so much greed and pride
Where people are self centered and don't worry until they die
But my dear and loving friend let me tell you this
I know within my heart the real meaning of happiness
For I have grown beyond this world of greed and worldly pride
Where people think they're happy but yet I know they're sad inside
For money can't buy happiness its just a temporary thing
So I guess I'll go on living without the cars and diamond rings
I'll aim for the higher things of great spiritual worth here upon this land
I'll put aside the material things for I know there's a better plan
That God has for me and you if we make the right choice today
He'll bless your future life and you'll be happy every day
So now my very special friend I hope you understand
That there are greater things to come, things beyond this worldly land
You may not understand it right now but you soon will see
That there is a greater place beyond this destiny.
