Lois Gayle Adair Family History & Pictures

Lois Gayle Adair was born on January 5, 1935 at Couer D'Alene Idaho. Lois had blondish brown hair and had light blue eyes. She was born by candle light at 2:30 in the morning. She was the daughter of Robin Rawalt Adair and Inez Lillian Chamberlain and she was 5'2 inches tall. As a young girl her parents got divorced and she then went to live with her aunty Erma who's the sister of her father. Her aunt Erma took good care of her and she has fond memories of living with her aunt Erma.

Lois had only one biological sister Barbara and two half sisters and two half brothers. Lois graduated from Lewis And Clark High School in Spokane Washington. During her High School days she attended a school dance and on the way home she was in a car accident in Spokane Washington near a Lake...she was thrown about one hundred feet. She remained in a coma for about a month and nearly died. She suffered some brain damage which was diagnozed later as organic brain damage, it causes some memory lost.

Lois met Stanley Kenji Y. while she was working at a Japanese Restaurant by the name of Tsukiyaki Inn. Stanley was in the Airforce at the time and they were married on December 7, 1952 in Spokane Washington. Lois and Stanley had four boys and four girls, they did a lot of traveling together and made their final home in Honolulu Hawaii.

Tragedy had stricken Lois and Stanley and they were spearated in June of 1968 and both Stanley and Lois went their separate ways.. Stanley had a drinking problem which landed him in trouble. The eight children ended up living in foster homes because of the circumstances at the time. It was a very sad and difficult time in her life to see all her kids separated and put into different foster homes.

Lois didn't regain custody of all her kids, she remarried to Charles Louis Elder on January 7, 1972... Charles was in the Navy at the time of their marraige, everything seem to be going good for them until Charles decided that he wanted to be married to someone who could give him children. Charles and Lois were about fourteen years apart in age. They ended up getting a divorce on August 3, 1978 and she then moved back to Hawaii in April of 1979.

Lois never learned how to drive in her life and it made it difficult for her to go places and to come and see all her grandchildren. She has belonged to the Jehovah Witness Church since she was about 24 years old, she doesn't celebrate birthday's Christmas etc. because of her religious beliefs. But inspite of it and as much as she struggles she always tries her best to buy her grandchildren things.

Lois is a very outgoing and a friendly person, perhaps too friendly as Stanley called it gullible. She tries to be nice to everyone and seems to be happy most of the time. She has lived a hard and painful life, she has never had all her children in one place at a time and also been rough on her children. She has a hard time talking about it. She just wants to forget the past and go on with her life to the best of her ability.
