Peanutbutter Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup peanutbutter
dash of salt

thoroughly cream shortening, sugars and vanilla extract. Add eggs, stir in peanutbutter. Sift dry ingredients and stir in peanutbutter. Sift dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Form into balls and press with fork. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 min. at 375 degrees. Makes 8 dozens.
