Things I Love About Hawaii
The
things I love about Hawaii besides the beauty of it is the weather,
people, beaches, we have all different mixtures here on the island...
and great food. We have nice friendly people, less prejudice because
of the many mixtures we're brought up with.
We don't have to travel very far to get where we want and we have stores and eating places that are open 24 hours a day... such as Zippy's Restaurant, Jack In The Box, Taco Bell is usually open till 2 a.m. then we have Walmart and 7 Eleven that are open 24 hours a day.
Even though our cost of living is high compared to mainland states we don't have to worry about buying winter clothes or heating and cooling systems... The most you'll need here is a airconditioner in your car :) The weather in Hawaii is usually in the 80's in the day and 70 degrees at night. We have only one season so for those who love the snow well, perhaps Hawaii isn't for you but it's worth visiting.
Note: Before coming to Hawaii check out where you'll want to stay and some of our prices. Remember this isn't a place where things are cheap like in other parts of the U.S. and don't think we're rich because we live here... we're just willing to pay for the nice weather, friendly people and we're happy to be around many different cultures:) (0ur cost of living may be considered cheap for those coming from Japan and Europe)
If you get tired of the same island you can always island hop and fly over to the other islands such as Molokai, Lanai, Maui, Kauai, Big Island etc. The cost for a round trip by airplane is usually around 85.00.
The only island that you can't go to is Kohoolawe and Niihau. Oahu is the most busiest island and Kauai is the greenest island. My favorite island is Kauai then Maui, Big Island and then Oahu... I haven't been to Lanai or Molokai but would love to go and visit there one day. Oahu is where the jobs are but the other islands make nice quiet spots to visit, no freeways there and high rises like we have here on Oahu.
Because
we have a smaller city compared to larger U.S. cities, we have less
crime on the island. We're a modern state and not living in grass
huts as some may think. Our main language on the island is English.
