my poem
Satan Didn't Win
by Deborah Gorman

I walked into
A darkened room
My friend I saw
In deep dispair and gloom

My voice cried out
To the evil one
Rebuke you, Satan
For what you've done

You took her and blinded her
Ruined her past
But I've found her again
At long last

She saw happiness that
To me was false
Ran into the arms
Of those that were lost

The evil ones
They hypnotized
Introduced her to sin
Told her deceptive lies

I tried to keep her
From their harm
But their fingers clenched
Her fragile arm

If true happiness is what you seek
Jesus is the only One
He died for you
He is God's Son

At the Name
The evil ones fled
Leaving harsh wounds
Upon her head

I called upon the Father
For His help and guide
But He was already there
Right by my side

She fell to the floor
I ran to my friend
I reassured her that
This was not the end

There is a place
With no more strife
Jesus can give you a home in heaven
And Eternal Life

She opened her eyes
They were bloodshot red
"Please tell me
What Jesus said"

I told her then
Of His Word
She listened to me
This time she heard

She looked at me
With tear stained eyes
"He can't forgive me
Too much sin did I devise"

His Word is real
It's not a lie
For every sin
Did Jesus die

He will forgive
Yes, this is true
If He can forgive me
He can forgive you

She asked to pray
So we got on our knees
"Dear ord Jesus
Forgive me please"

She trusted Christ
Believed His Word
His truths in her heart
Did she gird

Her wounds still deep
From the massive blow
The evil ones gave
Pain, heartache, woes

The drugs were too much
She started to sway
Her frail body
In my arms did lay

Joy filled her eyes
Peace in her heart
But tears down her face
Knowing we'd soon part

"This isn't goodbye
For I'll see you again
I do know why
But I don't know when

As she closed the eyes
That joy was now in
She softly stated
"Satan Didn't Win"
