Chapter 2- A Revealed Identity

Renée’s head was already beginning to hurt and the concert hadn’t even started. She reached into her backpack and got an Advil. She quickly swallowed it and turned her attention back to the stage, the show was beginning.

Five boys walked out onto the stage, and if possible, the screaming got louder.

Renée almost choked when she saw the kid who had given her the tickets walk out onto the stage. She got over her shock quickly, shock is a weakness, and Renée never showed her weaknesses.

‘Liar’ she mouthed when he looked her way. He almost started cracking up so he looked away.

“Move over! I need to see my baby!” A tall, thin, blonde girl pushed Renée to one side. Then she waved up to the stage and shouted, right in Renée in a high-pitched preppy voice, “Hey! Jesse!!!”

Jesse gave a weak wave back. The girl giggled, tossed back her hair, and waved again.

“Excuse me!” Renée said, the girl turned on her and gave her a death glare, “This is my seat.”

She shrugged, “Like, so?”

“Like, if you don’t get out of my seat I will like get security,” She said mocking the girl.

“Ugh, whatever,” She turned to the dark haired girl next to her, “C’mon Claire, let’s go.” The two stalked off.

Renée stared out at the rainy sky. The thunder crashed and the lightning lit up the sky.

“Do you need a ride?” She heard a voice behind her. She turned around; it was the boy from earlier.

“Thanks, but I only get rides from people if I know their names,” She said with a fake smile.

“Oh. Duh. I’m Jesse,” He thrust out his hand.

Renée stared at his hand for a few seconds and raised an eyebrow, “Renée.” She said simply crossing her arms.

“So, do you need a ride,” Jesse asked running his fingers through his mop of blonde hair.

“No, I don’t live to far away,” She said turning back to the glass doors.

“Jesse! There you are!” The bitchy girl from the concert and her lil cronie ran up to them, the rest of the band was not far behind. The girl paused when she saw who Jesse was talking to; she immediately replaced her anger with a fake smile.

“Oh. Hi! I met you earlier! I’m Madison” She said as she held out her hand.

She sighed, “When will people learn that I don’t do the hand shaking thing?”

“And you are???” Madison asked getting a little irritated.

“Renée.” She leaned against the wall, “As if you give a shit.”

The girl threw off that last comment, “What were you doing at the concert? I mean you don’t seem like the kind of person who would like that type of music.” She raised one delicate eyebrow and gave another fake smile, as if to challenge Renée.

“You’re right. Jesse was trying to make up for the bruise he gave me on my ass.” She gave an equally fake smile.

One of the other members of the band joined the conversation, “Whoa, that…. Does not sound right…”

Renée’s fake smile grew even wider, “It’s only sounds wrong to sick-minded freaks. Now, excuse me, I’ve got better things to do with my time,” She pushed her way out of the door and into the storm.
