Eternal Love
Nikita walked into section with her head held high but did not escape the looks that she knew would happen. Especially at her attire-Nikita never dressed like that.

“Birkoff, send Michael and Nikita to my office” Ops ordered.

“yes sir” came the reply back.

Minutes later both Michael and Nikita were headed up to Ops office with Michael behind Nikita.

‘This wasn’t like her. What was she trying to do?’ he thought. ‘It’s like she was trying to be someone she wasn’t’ and it bothered him he admitted.

“Welcome Back Nikita” Ops greeted her obviously glad to see her back to full capacity.

“Thank You Sir” she replied with a smile. “It’s um….good to be back” she snuck a quick glance at Michael. He was frowning.

‘Good’ she thought. ‘He needs to be taught a lesson’ but then again she reasoned with herself, ‘Michael had had enough pain in his life. But what he had said to her this morning had cut into her deep and he needed to know that.’

“I have taken you both off of mission status…you are not needed there right now. Your attention will be focused on the new recruit, Flavia. She is not doing well but with both of your attentions on her I feel that will change. Especially yours Michael.” Ops briefed. “Madeline has been studying her and she is, of course, very attracted to you. If necessary, you are to use that attraction to your advantage. Understood?”

“Yes” Michael said crisply thinking that this was not going to help his situation with Nikita one bit.

“Shouldn’t be a problem” Nikita interrupted. “Never was in the past”

“That will be enough Nikita” Ops silenced her. “You are both dismissed but I expect to see some results in Flavia within the week”

Michael nodded leaving the office first waiting for Nikita at the end of the stairs. “My office…10 minutes” he ordered and walked away coldly.

‘How dare he? He thought he could just coldly order her around as if there was no “Personal Component” as Madeline put it, to their relationship. Well, she wouldn’t stand for it. Either he was going to get it or not get anything from her’ she vowed and walked towards his office.

On the way she met an op in her path who was obviously attracted to her but was far too young and innocent. She knew Michael was watching her in someway and so she played the flirting game. The young op put his arms around her waist flirting deeply with her and she chatted back to him throughly enjoying the game. ‘Too bad she couldn’t see Michael’s expression right now’ she thought. She pulled away minutes later and went into Michael’s office.
“What the hell are you doing?” Michael demanded.

“What do you mean” she asked innocently.

“I’ve had just about enough of your attitude today” he said grabbing her arm roughly. “I don’t know what your problem is today Kita but…”

“My attitude?” she repeated incredously. “Don’t you even start Michael” she replied angrily.

Michael grabbed both of her arms forcing them behind her…”What the hell is it? We were fine this morning until….” He trailed off.

“Welcome to reality Michael…it sure took you long enough” she mocked.

“Until… I made the remark about spending time with Madeline” he finished. “You know I wasn’t serious Kita…I was only teasing you” he defended himself.

“Were you?” she asked obviously not caring. “Well I took it seriously and it wasn’t funny” she practically yelled. “ You know how I feel about Maddy but yet you threw her in my face. Why? To cause me more pain?” she asked. “I think you’ve caused me quite enough pain Michael…enough to last me eternity” she replied angrily as she left the office before she really lost her temper.

Michael sat down at his desk in shock. He couldn’t belive this was happening. One sentence. One statement. He had been teasing her but somehow she had taken it seriously. And why shouldn’t she? He asked himself. It wasn’t like he was the joker of Section. He put his face into his hands wondering how it had all gone so wrong so fast. It wasn’t like Kita to get upset like this for something so small. There was something more bothering her. And he was going to find out what it was. He couldn’t leave things this way between them. No…he had to make things right and find out what was wrong…any way he could.
