1995 - Hawaii
Hawaii is probably the most amazing place I've ever been to. The weather was perfect, the beaches were absolutly gorgeous, the scenery was breathtaking.. I would love to live there!
We first stayed in the island of Hawaii, the main island. I remember sitting on Waikiki beach, watchin the sunset. I've never seen anything like it before in my life! It was probably the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen! We later took a interstate plane to the island of Maui. We stayed there for a week at this really nice resort (we got to stay there for free because my parents had a timeshare with the resort). We even rented a car and drove everywhere! I had a chance visit the Volcano National Park, black sand beaches. and Waimea Canyon. On this trip, I went moutain hiking for the first time. It was to be an hour stop to check out a lookout point, but turned into a 4 hour hiking trip! The point was high in elevation, but you hardly realize that when you're walking downhill. I walked a lot faster than my parents and sister so I sorta took off on them. It was such an awesome place. Far below there was a crator, so I decided to walk down there to check it out. It took me about an hour and a half to hike down to the crator. When I got there, I walked around the crator. I was huge!! I was sorta scared I was gonna fall in! That hike down was so worth it. But man.. hiking back up was pure hell! I struggled though the whole walk up! Since it was high in elevation, I found myself running out of breath and taking breaks every 50 steps I took! But after that, I felt this huge sense of accomplishment. Man was it amazing!
