| My name is Jorge Alvarez. I live in Chatsworth Georgia. I'm a Member of the Chattanooga Racing Pigeon Clud and AU Member American Racing Pigeon Union. My club is located in Chattanooga Tennessee. My love for pigeons started when I was 10 years old in Cuba. Yes, I am from Cuba. I came to the United States when I was 16 years old. I arrived in Miami on Mother's Day. I lived in Florida for many years till my beautiful wife convinced me to move to Georgia and now I never want to leave. Here I have baught a house on 2 acres of land and have been able to build a big pigeon loft and I have another on the way. |

| Young Birds |
| Now the young birds, I pay much attention to then since birth. I put the band a 6 to 8 days old. When the have 24 days I separate the young birds from the parents in to a big crate the will learn to eat and drink for 5 days. VERY IMPORTANT! Then in to the young birds loft. Where I will give TRICHOCEASE in the water for 1 day per week. A CURE AND PREVENTION FOR TRICHMONIASIS " CANKER " In April 1st I will give them PMV-1 vaccine injection and Wormout Gel. |
| Hens |
| After the breeding season I put the hens in the aviary for 5 months. The only medicine I give them is a Calcium supplement. Once a week, 1 tablespoon per gallon. I dont like medicines. I try to stay away from them as much as possible. |
| Breeders |
| I put together my breeders on December 1st. The fist 2 round of babies are my young bird racing team, then I seperate the Hens from the Cocks. In August I put them back together for a late hatch and seperated again on to December 1st. In November, 2 week before I pair my breeders I will give them PMV-1 vaccine injection and Wormout Gel. VERY IMPORTANT! |
