LAST THOUGHTS

My hands are clammy
As I touch the metal
My sights on the man
Over the hill
Who is he in this
Storm of chaos and confusion
The man of opposing color
Time stands still in 30 seconds
That I may take my last breath
Forever more
Do I ponder his identity
There is no time
But conscience is assailing me
Like a hail of bullets
Friend or foe
Father, husband, son or brother
Who will give his life for another
The world is a confusing place
Hate is overcoming all
But to me and him
We are the same
Encased in a capsule
Of the same dilemma

HELL OF ANOTHER KIND
Out here
Somewhere
Far from all
That is familiar
Is today
My last day
Here on Earth
As the world rushes by
Tumbling faster
Into a cauldron
Of turmoil and darkness
Flashes and booms
Of unseen beings that scream
The end is near
Beasts of metal carved from man's
Own hand spit fire of
Another agony
I lay here
Wondering if I'll
Ever see you again
To hold you
One
Last
Time
