So young and sweet-for all to adore

But left in her room-behind a closed door.

Her childhood memories-of yells and screams

Haunts her smiles-haunts her dreams.

Growing up-with so much confusion

Are her smiles real-or just an illusion?

Being pulled several ways-which way does she go?

Which emotion is sufficient-which does she let show?

"Come sit by me-Look at me,now"

Whatever she remembers-doesn't matter,somehow.

"Watch me play-the role,today"

The past forgotten-with nothing to pay.

"See,I'm smiling-I'm not yelling at you...

So forget those memories-of what I would do."

"Take my hand-and make me right"

Out of mind-out of sight.

"Be a good little girl-lets make this my way...

This is my game- this is how we play."

Wake up,Little sweet One-be very aware

To play that game-is only a dare.

That helpless child-has grown so strong

And so intelligent-knowing right from wrong.

Let go,Little Sweet One-isn't it time to let go?

Its not your's to hold on to-it's only a show.
