Kid's Korner....Tigers

Siberian Tiger

The Siberian tiger, has a more yellowed coat than the Bengal. They live in Siberia Asia. Males weigh 600 lb. Females weigh 500 lb. Not the kind of kitty you would have as a pet in your home. They can attack a small elephant or crocodile. Tigers kill water buffalo, cattle, and other things that they may catch. People think tigers harm humans, but they really try to stay away from you. They only attack people when they are starving or too weak to catch a stronger prey. And they really enjoy water on a hot day. Tigers are the largest of the big cats. There teeth are bigger then any other predator.

Tigers are very strong. They can lift weights that would take 16 men to pull. When they make a kill, they send out a roar that tells the other tigers that he has killed something if cubs arrive he lets them eat because there mother is away. When the cubs have had their fill he moves in and finishes it. Some tigers are white creams color or yellowish orange. One tiger traveled 215 miles in search of food. The largest tiger ever weighed was 700 lb.
