Please Note: I'm hoping to constantly change and add to this page so please keep on coming back. This is kind of a babble, I'm still too young to know it, but would like to think I do page.

One person can make a difference and will....

Do you find my last statement naive? Perhaps you think I have my head in the clouds. Maybe I do, but why not? Where is the world without dreams and hopes? Apathy is prominent...a lack of compassion is rampid. I started this part of a page to help express some of my dreams and ambitions. Hopefully by putting them down, the more dedicated I will be to achieving them.

Like the rest of the world, I shed tears when I heard about the school shootings in Littletown and then in Taber. What would cause these children to build up so much anger that they were able to kill another human being?

The world was quick to blame everyone else--the film industry for promoting violence, the NRA for making guns so accessible, the media for glorifying the violence, or the police for not seeing the violent tendencies of those kids. I think we should all take blame. Are we, as a society, are raising angry, violent children? Do we not allow children to be tormented by other children? I've been there, I know it happens. Anyone in any Jr/Sr High School setting can tell you teasing, bullying, and emotional/physical abuse occurs. I'm not saying that every child that is bullied will have the same outcome as those in Colorado, but I am saying that the torment must stop.

Money....we never seem to have enough. Everyone wants it, and we seem to need it. Not everyone has enough, and some people have too much. To have it is a goal, if not an obsession. Money is necessity but more so a social prestige. I don't understand the obsession. I love money as much as the next person but I do not understand why it is so unequally distributed. Call me a communist, I'm more of a socialist though.

Little things everyone can do:

1. Read enlightening books (please if you have any suggestions, let me know and I will post them.)
2. Do little things--donate an hour of your time, hold doors for strangers, show your children that you love them, strike up a conversation with someone you would not normally, donate bood, smile at people....just do something, anything.
3. Do not allow prejudice to run your life. Express your disgust at racist jokes, and don't laugh or tell them yourself. Teach yourself not to look at a large person and think "they need to exercise more." Allow the people that surround you to be as diverse as the world in which we live--do not just accept difference, celebrate it!
4. Correspond with others that similar views of the world as you do...join service clubs, email friends who will support your efforts.
5. Do not allow others to shoot you down--your dreams and ideals are as legitimate as everyone else's.
