About Our Name: A Life Built Apart (ALBA) was first thought of during our groups 2nd practice together. We wanted a name that would reflect us, so we took the first letter of each of our names; Anna (A), Lynn (L), Bethany (B), Amanda (A) - and therefore came up with ALBA. Then we took those letters and created A Life Built Apart. Our name also reflects on the thought that we live our lives apart from the world and concencrated to Jesus Christ. We hope that the message of our name comes out it every song we sing
How We All Met: Amanda & Bethany were the first to know eachother, they have been friends since before they could walk. Bethany's dad is the Pastor of the church that Amanda's family began to attend when Amanda was a few months old. So from there Bethany & Amanda met. Anna and Lynn knew eachother from church as well. Bethany met Lynn when they both worked at Family Christian Bookstore together. Amanda & Bethany met Anna in high school when they were all in choir together. One Sunday Bethany and Amanda were scheduled to sing at thier church. They decided they didn't want to sing alone, and so they invited Anna to sing with, and then Bethany invited Lynn. When the 4 of them got together to practice, that is when Amanda & Lynn met for the first time. The four clicked and the song for church went great....and that was the start of ALBA!
Our Desire & Goal: Our desire is that every song we sing glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Savior and Lord. We hope that all our music helps others to worship. We give all the credit of any talent we possess to the only one who deserves it - God. |
