My name is April Dawn. I'm 17, and a senior in a little tiny school in Montana, far, far away from anything. The music scene here consits of a live band maybe once a year for the customer appreciation dinner at the bar. Other than that, its limited to the school concerts and such. I have always loved to sing, but I got really interested in it as a career about 4 years ago, when I started High school. Some very special people told me that I had a gift, and ever since then, I want to share it with the world. I will never forget my very first public concert solo. I sang Jingle Bell Rock for the Christmas concert, and I had to do it with out the microphone! Afterwards, so many people came up to me and said "April, I had no idea you could sing like that!" Even my mom said that!! Anyways. Right now, in Montana, I don't have a band, but I'd like one. I play guitar, and I try to play keyboard. I love to sing, and I think that when someone is on stage, they are reveling something very special about themselves. Its a direct way to see inside someones heart and soul. With my music, I want to change the way people view it. I want someone to hear a pop song and not automatically think it was written by someone else, and that I write my music, and I really sing and play. I will play my guitar on any recordings I do, plus sing all my own songs. I want parents to be able to buy my music for their children, because it won't be littered with profanity. I believe that we need to try and unite all musicians, instead of dividing them with racial slurs. I think that I'm moving more towards a rock genre in my writing style, but i think that is great! My greatest musical influence would have to initially be Hanson. They came out at a time in my life when I really need their music. I think that they really helped me through some rough times. I also was inspiried to see people my age and younger, doing something that I knew I could do. Now, my influences lean more towards 3 Doors Down and Life House, bands such as that, but the basis of my music still lies in Hanson. I hope that this helps you get to know me better, and I hope that I can talk to all of you soon! I look forward to meeting you and uniting the music world!!! |
