Cheri's interview
1) Why do you want to be a singer?  Throughout my life, I have always been
very unsure of myself.  Singing is the only thing that makes me happy, and
it's the only thing I feel talented at.  When I'm on stage, it's like no one
can hurt me.  I've also been through many difficulties in my life, and by
writing songs about my experiences and speaking out about them, it may help
someone else get through the same things.

2) Have you had vocal lessons?  I've learned a great deal from my choir
director, but I have not had any real vocal lessons.  I have recently
contacted a vocal coach and plan to start on lessons as soon as possible.

3) How many songs have you wrote? What is(are) they about?  I've written many
songs.  Some were thrown out by accident, and some are unfinished, but I've
got at least twenty full songs written.  I do not have them all listed on my
website, however, because they aren't copyrighted yet, and I don't want them
stolen.  Also, a few are extremely personal and I don't feel comfortable
enough to put them out for everyone to see.  I've written about personal
experiences mostly, like my aunt's murder, depression, suicide, but I've also
written many upbeat happy songs, too.  I'm not all depressive!  ;)

4) Is anyone in your family a singer or dancer?  My cousin Tabby, who is my
age, sings in her school choir, but none of my family otherwise sings or
dances.  Also, I've never met my father or his family, so I don't know if
anyone on his side dances or sings.

5) Do you like singing or dancing better?  I definitely like singing better.
I'm really not a good dancer, LoL!  I am practicing, though!

6) How long have you been singing for?  Wow, I've been singing since I was
really little.  I used to run around my grandmother's house making up songs
about my friends.  I've only been taking my singing seriously for about two
to three years, though.

7) Who inspired you to become a singer?  My biggest inspiration is my choir
director, Miss K.  She's got an amazing Soprano voice, and she loves what she
does.  She's taught me so much about music.  As a professional, Mariah Carey
has inspired me greatly.  She's got the most amazing voice, and she always
uses her fame to help others by donating to charities, etc.

8) What is one thing you want all your fans to know about you?  I'm not just
another pop princess wanna-be who is going to ignore her fans after she
becomes popular.  I don't want popularity at all, I just want to touch people
with my music.  I'm not going to change my personality…actually, I wouldn't
change at all if I became popular.  I love everyone who helps me in some way,
or even makes a simple kind comment.

9) Who is your biggest support?  My best friends, Desiree, Jaime, and Tabby.
They are the only ones who have never tried to talk me out of pursuing my
dream.

10) When you make it what are you going to do with the money?  Well, my
family's never had a lot of money, so I would definitely buy my mom a house
and help her out financially.  I wouldn't indulge in buying a huge mansion or
anything, I would give a lot of it to charities and those who really need it.
