music genre: pop/folk/blues/rock |
Playing pop-folk-rock, compared to a cross between Dixie Chicks and 80's girl rockers The Bangles, the young members of FAE (Forever and Ever) have created a simplistic style and sound all their own. The band comprises guitarist Marie Zamora, drummer Stephanie Steele, and sister keyboardist/bass Christy Steele. Starting at the tender ages of 15, 15, and 13 respectively, they are following in the wave of teen pop acts such as M2M and Hanson. FAE started back in 1997 when Marie, Christy, and Stephanie created a jingle for Radio Disney. They phoned in and sang the three harmony jingle, which was aired for a few years before being retired from the waves. FAE also started by singing in church. By late 1997 they were noted with a song called "The Olive Tree". By 1998 the girls knew they wanted to do more than just sing; they wanted to form a band. They started as every other band does, practicing their instruments, recording demo tapes from their home, and distributing the tracks to friends and family. FAE put on performances for everyone who would listen, singing original songs and playing to their pieces. The neighborhood would stop to listen to the girls as they performed on the corner of the streets with guitar, shakers, and castanets in hand. The girls gained a reputation and were asked to put on concerts for birthday parties, weddings, and for elementary school students. By May of 2000 FAE hit the Internet waves with the different name, Believe. There were a few problems in July 2000, and the girls decided to put the band on hold. By January of 2001 they were back in business, under the fresh new name of FAE, to signify new beginnings and lasting friendships. The girls were instantly welcomed back by their fans with more of a reception than ever expected. FAE got back to work and hit the ’most talked about independent bands on the Net List’. Due to daily requests, FAE decided to put out a 10-track album that is currently in production. FAE is working on honoring their skills. The girls are recording their debut album, 'Blue Monday' at the moment, which can be purchased on their web site upon its release. |
