My full name is Raven Chauncey Wood. The reason my
mom named me Raven was because of 2 things. She used
to have a pet "raven" and also when I was born,
usually babies would cry, but I didn't. I just stared
at her with my black, Chinese eyes and my eyes
reminded her of the eyes of her pet raven frm
childhood. My dad named me Chauncey (for my middle
name) because that was my great-grandmother's name who
died a few weeks before I was born. I don't look like
my siblings for the gene pool reason. My mother is
full Chinese, and my father is half french and half
British. Therefore, when my mother had children 4
times, no body exactly looked alike. I look the most
like my mom because I have her eyes, and my hair looks
the most similar to hers compared to my other
siblings. Anyways, I was born and raised in Oakland,
California all of my life. I'm 13 years old, and was
born on May 17th, 1987. My first passion is singing
and throughout my life, I've always wanted to persue a
career. I decided to take my plan to action last year
and promoted myself online. Then I joined a new group
called "Fade Out." And unfortunately, the group was
split up the summer of 2000. Then, I went through a
terrible fire accident on September 3rd, 2000 that
changed my decision for singing. However, after a few
months of councilling and things being normal again,
I've made up my mind and decided to repersue my
career. But with singing, I also have another passion,
being a motivational speaker. Crazy, I know. But I
don't know, it just popped out of my mind! Anyways,
this whole fire accident taught me a lesson: cherish
life and enjoy every moment of it. No matter how bad
it is, always look at the brighter side of things.
