Having originally been a Principality of the East Kingdom, the fencers of AEthelmearc were at that time elligible through the customs of the parent kingdom to receive its fencing award. Many fine fencers of the Principality demonstrated the skill and service that the Eastern Crown chose to recognize them by making them Companions of the Order of the Golden Rapier.
