Month 10
Week 40
I think play should be a good part of your healthy life. Playing will keep stress down and make you less likely to give in to emotional eating. I will plan at least one fun thing to do a day. Maybe go for a bike ride, play my keyboard, play a computer game or pretend to be rich and browse some model homes.
The Reward: Playing is its own reward.
Week 41
Now that we have playing down we need to add some joy breaks to our day. Just 2-5 minutes a few times a day to relax and have fun. Bring a yo-yo, devotional book, or crossward puzzle to work and use it. Sing a little song before doing housework. Plan to watch the sunset tonight. Make sure you plan some of the breaks into your day. Others just come to us, like being drawn to nurture one of your plants.

The Reward: More joy!
Week 42
During the day chose one thing to look forward to that evening. We get so stressed if you have to come home from work or a day with the kids only to do more work and running around. See if you can get 1/2 hour or even 15 minutes for something you enjoy. In the afternoon you can think of what might be enjoyable like working on a jigsaw puzzle with the family, going out for dessert or doing some scrapbooking. Your tasks will keep till the next day.

The Reward: Having something to look forward to every evening
Week 43
What about the weekends? Are they just good for catching up on what we didn't finish during the week. Take a real Sabbath with no housework or shopping. My favorite memories of my childhood was having Dad say on a Sunday afternoon after church "So what shall we do today?" Sometimes we would go downtown to the museums in Chicago, go to the forest preserve and take a walk, visit the zoo or sometimes just sit at home playing board games. These mini-vacations were what memories are made of.
