The Quartermaster's Corner
Welcome to the Quartermast's Corner. Technically the Quartermaster's don't have a program area like all of the other department areas, but they do have something better.  THE WHOLE CAMP!  Yes indeed the whole camp is our department area.
What does a Quartermaster DO?
~ The Quartermaster serves as the 'fix it man' of the camp.  Since there is only one Ranger Bob (unfortunately) the Quartermaster's take all of the smaller jobs that don't require Ranger Bob's super powers.  We do everything from fix tents & platforms, to moving big heavy things, and running to Toolhouse.
What does it take to be a Quartermaster?
~ I would say the most important thing is to have an imagination.  Many times the Quartermaster is asked to do things that they might not know how to do... so they have to think of a way to do it.  For example, How would you nail a bowl of slightly chilled Jello to the wall?

A couple of general requirements though would be:
1.) Over 18 years of age. (so you can drive the              camp trucks and tractors.)
2.)  Some camping experience & good references           are always good.
   3.) Valid drivers license.
4.) Muscles like Todd Edgar or Ranger Bob.
       * these are not required, but the job gets done               faster with super human strength.

Several staff members helped to fix this tent.. although I'm not sure what was wrong with it.
Where was Quartermaster Phill before he became a Quartmaster?
~ Ironically Phill came from the same troop as Trevor Sprague, our great program director.  But for training Phill spent a summer as a BSA Lifeguard & snorkeling instructor.

Its been said that every great Quartermaster works and becomes a BSA Lifeguard before he becomes a Quartermaster.  This also includes Ranger Bob!  Who used to be a Waterfront Director before he became Ranger.
1999 summer camp.  Does anyone know where this canoe is now? I do.
Where does Quartermaster Phill go once camp is over?
~ Once everything is done out at camp, I go back to my home town and troop for awhile, which is Troop 50 in Alliance, Ohio.  Then when school starts back up, I move onto Youngstown State University where I'm studying Crimnial Justice.

I also teach Swing dancing lessons at a place in downtown Youngstown called 'Cedars' every thursday night around 9:00pm.   On the weekends I normally drive to a place called the Wightman in Pittsburgh, that has the best swing dancing floor in the area.  All of these and more can be found from my homepage.
