Bungalow Stay 1997
Venue: Southview Bungalow, Penang Hill
Date: 22 to 24 December 1997
During the year-end holidays, after all the members recovered from exam fever, the Buddhist Students' Society had another successful bungalow stay. Although the duration was shorter this time, due to the availability of the bungalow, all of us still had a wonderful and memorable time there. Besides the usual interaction between members, the Games Committee organised several interesting games like Captain Ball, quizzes, face painting (which ended up as only arm painting) and the ever popular Secret Admirer game.
Mr Lai, as usual, was with us throughout the whole duration of the stay. Furthermore, the members were very much delighted when Ms Khaw said she was going to stay through the whole duration as well. Mr Lai gave us a talk entitled "Building your inner wealth". Miss Khaw also join in to give Mr Lai a hand by guiding us through the meditation sessions. Besides, we listened to several Dhamma talks on tapes brought there by Mr Lai.
Everyone did indeed have a great time. Besides enjoying ourselves in the games, we find the Dhamma sessions very enlightening and useful. Throughout this short period, most of us found new friendship as well as becoming closer friends.
At the end of the bungalow stay, we had our usual singing session. Nevertheless, the singing session this time was rather unique in a way that much more songs were being sang compared to the usual one or two. Then it was photo session before we set off to the funicular train with fond memories of the beautiful bungalow stay we had had.
