Subject: 300 DTG pins at Parramatta
Country: Australia

Comments:
Attention all Sydney pin collectors: After the shambles that occured at the Pinworkx Megastore last night (I mean early this morning) over the limited 300 Days to Go pewter pin we have been able to convince the decision makers at Cash's Aminco that we need more pins to service our collectors. As a result, one dedicated sales rep (with hangover and all) spent today chasing retailers that had pins left over and managed to gather up another 100 pewter pins and 200 standard pins to go on sale at 11pm this evening. Anyone who lives in Sydney and missed out on the pins are invited to visit the store tonight, 20th november, and purchase their pins. We are located on Argyle st Parramatta (next to the Argyle st medical centre outside of the estfield). If you stay aroun until 12:01 you will also be able to purchase your sleeps pins and not have to worry about lining up in the morning. To all of those dissapointed customers who lined up for so long last night and missed out, I appologise. We will do everything in our power to ensure that this dosen't hapen again and if anyone has any suggestions as to how we can do it better please drop me a line, you guys and gals know est, you are the ones in the lines all of the time, help us make it better for you. My appologies again, but I hope we can make it up to you !!! Chris Mundey. P.S. Mike and Gazelle, as always you are doing a fantastic job with your site, love the changes. Keep up the good work and lets catch up some time !!!

Some time ago just before the 400 DTG pin was released I arranged throuhg Michael Preston a Former employee of Pinworkx to send out a variety of Limited pins to the value of nearly $150.Well I am still waiting Michael Preston.
Even though I now know they will never arrive that is after over $85 worth of trunk calls to Pinworkx while you where still working there.I know it is not Pinworkx fault, for my out of pocket experienc. Which is very hard as I am a single Parent trying to ise my 10 year old Daughter named Rachael by myself which is a battle sometimes let alone get ripped off by a person of this character.
But the thing that really gets me is this bloke Michael Preston was supposed to be getting my Daughter some Swimming pins from the Pan Pacs as she is a keen swimmer and she was going to use these pins for a school project on her favourite sport. What a let down it was to her.As I kept ringing Pinworkx and Michael kept saying I don't know what the problem is but I will send them out first thing this afternon etc etc etc.
As by the time one of thegirls in the Office at Pinworkx told me that Michael will be finishing up on Monday the warning lights finally went off,as it was the Friday before he was to finish work that I finally found out.
So the next step was to get my Dear Mother whom kept telling me not to buy things over the phone using Credit card.Even though I talked her in to letting me use hers as I can not get one as I am on a Disability Pension and that do not hand them out to peo le in my predicament. So Mother contacted her American Express Credit card people only to be told that the payment had already be made so I lost my money big time as I had already given Mum the payment off her card.
So all I can say beware of this person as I trusted him all the way as he sound so convincing on the phone. So overall I am out of pocket well over $200 and still didn't get the pins.
I tried to track him down at the Clocktower at the Saturday Swapfest but guess what my dear freind Mr Michael Preston was know where to be seen.As I really would have got some enjoyment and some of my money back in satisfaction as he tried to explain why e ripped my little darling 10 year old Daughter Rachael off.Gee I would have had to try hard to controll myself I tell you.Gee he was lucky he did not attend that day of the Swapfest.
Then to be told this same crookster was supposed to be openning a new pin shop in Darling Harbour made me cringe.I have his picture out of a Pinworkx issue in my pin scrap book at home and I will never forget his face.
So this is a warning to everyone out there in the pin World be very very wary of this fellow as if he would ripp off a 10 year old little girl he would ruipp off his own Mother.
I hope you will print this letter of warning on your discussion sight as people need to be warned of these low lifes, before they find themselves in the same predicament as I now do.As I am still trying to hunt down these pins through the secondary market hat I should have been sent by Michael Preston in the first place.
So if any one has a spare Pan Pacs Kangaroo pin out there I know a little girl whom would just love to get her hands on one seenshe has been waiting for so long now for hers to arrive.
Thanks again Michael as at least you taught her a lesson of how not to act and not to promise things that you have no intention of doing in the first place.
But as they say what comes around goes around and yours must be just around the corner I think.Sleep well Michael Preston. It would be great if you got the chance of reading this, explain your way out of this one smooth talker!!!! Besides this person everyone we have found to be fair and generous in this hobby of pin collecting, its just a pity a few can wreck it for all!Bye now and thanks for letting me vent my anger of this person I feel better already ha ha!Peter Locock.

I thought this tip may be useful for those trading on the internet... If trading rare or valuable pins and sending them through the post:- 1) Use registered mail AND LODGE OVER THE COUNTER AT A POST OFFICE. - I have had the unfortunate experience of being posted pins by a PRE PAID REGISTERED ENVELOPE which was posted into a post BOX. The item went missing and there was no record of it being handed over to an Aust Post worker even though the sender could qu te me a registered number. These numbers are of no use until they arrive at the addressee's mail delivery centre, as there is no record of where your package went after it is placed in a post box While I am not accussing the sender of any wrong doing, this has opened my eyes to the possibilty of fraud. If I could, I could buy a prepaid envelope, remove the sticker and say it was posted. All it would take would be for me to fill out a missing artic e complaint form and after 2 weeks I could apply for $100 compensation. In the end I get to keep the pins I said I sent and get $100 as well. Fortunately for me, the sender is returning the pin I sent him. Of course there is a remote possibility that there are some dishonest post workers who are onto the pin craze and hijacking parcels. My sender informed me that he has had 3 parcels go missing in the last few months. So if you can, it may be wiser to send b courier or arrange to meet to trade. Hope this advise is useful

Thanks Steven you certainly solved that one. Wouldn't you think that Lindemans could have done the same after they read their article. So now we know that the corkscrew pin is really hot. Or is it? My bottle pin was HOT when there was 500 and now there are thousands. Thanks for solving this one.

OK I wrote to Lindemans and here is there response: _______________ There was an article in the Sun-Herald some weeks ago in relation to the pins. The article incorrectly stated that all three pins were available. The only pin released to the public was the wine glass pin. To my knowledge we have no plans to re-release t e corkscrew pin. We will be conducting another consumer promotion featuring an Olympic pin in around March of next year. Details of this promotion are yet to be confirmed. Hope this clarifies things. ______________________ Well that sure does clear things up. Thanks Lindemans...

Well, Freda I didn't know about the page in the sun herald advertising the corkscrew pin, so maybe the company has a communication problem. I think I may ask them again about it and see what they say about the advertisment. Hopefully a clear response is given this time. I will get back to you with the response.....however I must say the lindemans people are quite good considering they are the only company to respond to any of my questions reguarding pins, so they are not all that bad.

Thanks Steven, these sponsor companies amaze me. Wake up Lindemans, you had a half page spread in the Sun Herald a few weeks ago saying the corkscrew pin would be made available. We've heard since the champagne bottle is next, we should all tell Lindemans where to stick their corkscrew pin.

Well I wrote to lindemans asking how to get this pin and this is the response I got from them: Thank you for your enquiry. The Lindemans corkscrew pin was released for a trade exhibition last year and was not made available to the public. All stocks of these pins were exhausted at that time. The only pin currently available is the 'wine glass' pi which is available when you purchase specially marked bottles of Lindemans Limestone Coast Chardonnay (while pin stocks last). This promotion began in early August and is not available everywhere so you may have to shop around. We may run another pin promotion next year but have not had this confirmed at this stage. So that is what they said, and I believe the bottle pin was also released at a trade exhibition. However if you go to sold.com.au there is a person there selling the lindemans corkscrew pin, and it is currently at around $80.00. So that is all I know. f you have any other information please tell us all.....
