Canterra |
Lara walked through a boulevard that on each side was decorated by snow-covered huge tress. Her long black hair, hung down to her waist, blew, touched by the delicate wintry wind. On the left side of the boulevard, beside those cream trees that stood in line, there was a lake made of ice which length was as long as the way to the garden of Eden. The scenery around her aroused the odour of the past that raptured and thrilled her old feeling. Lara unusually loved the winter of Canterra. Canterra - the town that for years she had tried to forget. Now she came back, finding herself again hushed and lulled by the warmness and the stillness of her town. Canterra was a small, quiet town, but it was peaceful, far away from civilization. Several years ago Lara decided to go away from Canterra. She wanted to see the world, get new experiences and suck the worldy success. But when she stepped out to the outside world named Reality, everything was different from what she had expected. She was dashed, suppressed and outcasted... The outside world was so spacious, with a crowded society inside. Inside that world, everything was already organised, every human being behaved according to the opinion of the society. That world was filled with trembling robots. Those human beings evaluated the other people according to the rate of success and failure. The successful ones were lifted up and the failed ones were ditched. The ones who followed the opinion of the society were showered by admiration, the ones who revolted against were exiled. Those human beings always emphasized on moral, the laws made by humans. Those human beings always stressed on religion, the teachings that were already adapted to the mind of those trembling robots who filled Reality . Those human beings already standardized the truth and the fault... Lara was confused. She was vacillated. Are we able to know about the truth or the fault? The human mind is too limited to know and to understand that. There is no eternal truth. Truth changes with time, epochs and generations... Lara was in despair. Reality was too different from her dreamworld. she used to want to try to adapt to the world of Reality, she used to want to be accepted by the society of Reality. She therefore tried to forget Canterra. But Lara finally chose her freedom. She wanted to fly sky-high, flap her wings, communicate her unbounded thoughts and reach her individuality. "Canterra, the city of dream, I come back to you..." There was a beam of hope in her pitch-dark eyes. There was a warm gentle smile that embellished her full lips. Lara walked towards the edge of the lake, thinly-covered by the fragile glassy ice. She walked slowly from the edge to the middle of the lake. The layer of the ice started to crack, unable to hold back Lara's weight. Cracked, slowly... In the depth of the lake everything was very dark, dark and cold. But when the summer came, a glare of sunlight would be able to shine through, glisten the depth below, giving warmth and a slight ray of hopeful life... Deep down below, at the bottom of the lake, foams of transparent sparkling bubbles appeared. A girl with long jet-black hair, wearing white satin gown that blew delicately, lied there. Both of her arms embraced a bubble of hope. Lara had returned to Canterra, the city of dream... |
