INTRODUCTION OF THE GOODS AND SERVICES TAX - GST

In response to enquiries regarding the introduction of a Goods & Services Tax, Eastern Districts Polish Association Melbourne wishes to provide the following information based on our understanding of the legislation. You may be aware there are areas of the legislation and interpretations of the legislation that
are yet to be finalised - these may necessitate changes to the following information:

Australian Business Number/Registration for GST:

Eastern Districts Polish Association Melbourne has applied for an ABN and registration for GST purposes.
The Eastern Districts Polish Association Melbourne ABN registration will also cover the Library, AKT,
Beskidy and Saturday School. The Eastern Districts Polish Association Melbourne ABN is.

Tax Invoices:

All invoices issued by , Eastern Districts Polish Association Melbourne on and from I July 2000 will be in a format complying with the ATO guidelines. Information on the invoice will include: · Our ABN, issue date, our name and address
· The words '"Tax Invoice"
· The name & address of the recipient
· Description & quantity of goods supplied
· GST inclusive value of goods supplied, amount of GST included in each taxable supply, total of the invoice including GST and amount of GST included in the total.

Customers who are registered for GST will be eligible for an input tax credit for the GST paid to us

Pricing:

Based on guidelines from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC), Eastern Districts Polish Association Melbourne is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of its prices which are not set by legislation, to identify any savings resulting from the abolition of sales tax. Any such savings will be reflected in the prices of the relevant products from 1 July 2000.
