Sabinianus

The proconsul Sabinianus was the leader of a revolt against Gordian III in Africa. He proclaimed himself emperor, but after being defeated by the governor of Mauretania (240), his supporters in Carthage surrendered him to the imperial authorities and unlike the uprising of Gordian I in Africa two years earlier, the revolt of Sabinianus failed to gain support in other parts of the empire
