Not
Our Fruit Alone
A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two
of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like
island.
The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agreed that they had
no other recourse but to pray to God.
However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to
divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the
island.
The first thing they prayed for was food.
The next morning, the first
man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able
to eat
its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.
After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a
wife.
The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a
woman who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the
island,
there was nothing.
Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next
day, like magic, all of these were given to him.
However, the second man still had nothing.
Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife
could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his
side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and
decided to leave the second man on the island.
He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since
none of his prayers had been answered.
As
the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven
booming, "Why are you leaving your companion on the island?"
"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for
them," the first man answered. "His prayers were all
unanswered and so he does not
deserve anything.
"
You are mistaken! the voice
rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not
for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."
"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "What did he
pray for that I should owe him anything?"
"He prayed that all your prayers be answered."
For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers
alone, but those of another praying for us.

Time
Imagine. . . .
There is a bank that credits your account
each morning with $86,400.
It carries over no balance from day to day.
Every evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use
during the day. What would you do? Draw out
ALL OF IT, of course!!!!
E ach of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400
seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of
this you have failed to invest to good
purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no
overdraft.
E ach day it opens a new account for you.
Each night it burns the remains of the day.
If you fail to use the day's deposits, the
loss is yours.
There is no going back.
There is no drawing against the "tomorrow."
You must live in the present on today's
deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the
utmost in health, happiness, and success!
The clock is running. Make
the most of today.

Important Part Of Body
My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body.
Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct
answer.
When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans,
so I said, 'My ears, Mommy.' She said, 'No. Many people are deaf.
But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon.'
Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first
attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her,
'Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes'.
She looked at me and told me, 'You are learning fast, but the answer is
not correct because there are many people who are blind. Stumped again, I
continued my quest for knowledge and over the years,
Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, 'No. But you
are getting smarter every year, my child.'
Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying.
Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the
second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say
our final good-bye to Grandpa.
She asked me, 'Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?'
I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game
between her and me.
She saw the confusion on my face and told me, 'This question is very
important. It shows that you have really lived in your
life. For everybody part you gave me in the past, I have told you it was
wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to
learn this important lesson. She looked down at me as only a mother can. I
saw her eyes well up with tears.
She said, 'My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder.
' I asked, 'Is it because it holds up your head?' She replied, 'No, it is
because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry.
Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, My dear. I only hope
that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder
to cry on when you need it.' Then and there I knew the most important body
part is not a selfish one. It is sympathetic to the pain of others. People
will forget what you said....... People will forget what you did........
But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel.

VALUE
A well known speaker
started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In a room
of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going
up.
He said, "I am going
to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this."
He proceeded to
crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked, "Who
still wants it?"
Still the hands
were up in the air.
"Well," he replied,
"What if I do this?" - and he dropped it on the ground and started to
grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now
crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still
wants it?"
Still the hands
went into the air.
"My friends, we
have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to
the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives we are dropped,
crumpled and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the
circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are
worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen,
you will never lose your value: dirty or clean, crumpled or finely
creased, you are still priceless to those who love you. The
worth of our lives comes not in what we do or whom we know, but by WHO
WE ARE.
You are special -
Don't EVER forget it!
Remember that
amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic."

Weight of Stress
A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on
stress management. He raised a glass of
water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you
think this glass of water is?" The answer ranged from 20gm to
500gm.
"It doesn't matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you
hold it. If I hold it for a minute,
it is ok. If I hold it for an hour, I will
have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you will
have to
call an ambulance. It is the exact same
weight, but the longer I hold it, the
heavier it becomes."
"If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be
able to carry on, the burden becoming
increasingly heavier. What you have to do
is put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up
again."
We have to put down the burden periodicaly, so that we can be
refreshed and are able to carry on.
When you return home from work, put the burden of work down. Don't
carry it into your home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Live life to the fullest. Live and let live

Life
A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items
in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a
large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with
rocks, rocks about
2" in diameter.
He then asked the
students if
the jar was full? They
agreed that it was. So the
professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The
pebbles, of course, rolled
into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the
students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was. Then the professor picked up a box
of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled
up
everything else. "Now," said the professor, "I
want you to recognize that
this is your life. "The rocks are the important things--your
family, your spouse, your health, your
children-things that if everything else was lost
and only they remained, your life would still be full.
"The pebbles are the other things that
matter, like your job, your house, your car. The sand is
everything else. The small stuff. If you put the sand into
the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the
rocks. "The same goes for your life.
If you spend all your time and energy
on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that
are important to you. "Pay attention
to the things that are critical to your
happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get
medical checkups. Take
your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to
work, clean the house,
give a dinner party and fix the disposal. Take care of the
rocks
first--the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The
rest is just sand." But then...
A young male student stood up and asked the class if they were
sure that the jar was truly full. All the
students and the professor agreed that it
was indeed full. When they had all agreed, he reached
into his backpack and
pulled out a can of beer. Popping it open, he poured the contents
into the already "full" jar. Of course the
beer filled the remaining spaces within the
jar making the jar truly full. Which proves that no matter how
full
your life is, there is always room for a beer.

Never Forgets
Her hair was up in a ponytail. Her favourite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school, and she couldn't wait to go.
But her Mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand, If she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid. She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates. Of why he wasn't there today.
But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again, she tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school, Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees. A dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back, For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently, Anxious in their seats.
One by one the teacher called, A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy, As seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name, Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching, For a man who wasn't there.
"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one," Another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back, she heard a daddy say, "Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offend her, As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher, Who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back, slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child, Came words incredibly unique.
"My Daddy couldn't be here, Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be, Since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy, and how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories.
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses, and taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes, And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him, I'm not standing here alone."
"Cause my daddy's always with me, Even though we are apart,
I know because he told me, He'll forever be in my heart"
With that, her little hand reached up, And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat, Beneath her favourite dress.
And from somewhere in the crowd of dads, Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter, Who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her, Doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down, Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft, But its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much, He's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here, But heaven's just too far.
You see he was a fireman And died just this past year.
When airplanes hit the towers And taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes, It's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes, And saw him there that day.
And to her mother's amazement, She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children, All starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they saw before them, Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second, They saw him at her side.
"I know you're with me Daddy," To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers, Of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it, For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her, Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing, That heaven is never too far.

Why Women Cry
Why are you crying, a young boy asked his Mom?
"Because I'm a woman," she told him. "I don't understand," he said.
His Mom just hugged him and said,
"And you never will, but that's O.K.".......
Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does Mom seem to cry
for no reason?".
"All women cry for no reason," was all his Dad could say......
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women
cry.
Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he
asked "God, why do women cry so easily?"
GOD answered......
"When I made woman, I decided she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the
world, yet,
made her arms gentle enough to give comfort... !
I gave her the inner strength to endure childbirth and the
rejection that many times will come even from her own children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going and take care
of her family and friends, even when everyone else gives up, through
sickness and fatigue without complaining....
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all
circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly....
She has the very special power to make a child's boo-boo feel
better and to quell a teenager's anxieties and fears....
I gave her strength to care for her husband, despite faults and I
fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart....
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife,
but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him
unfalteringly....
For all of this hard work, I also gave her a tear to shed. I! t is
hers t o use whenever needed and ! it is her only weakness....
When you see her cry, tell her how much you love her, and all she
does for everyone, and even though she may still cry, you will have
made her heart feel good.
She is special!
Each day is a mountain that must be climbed; with courage each step
gets easier.
Love your Mother Always and keep her Smiling

gal went out to the working society, whereas the guy was overseas,
continuing his studies. They sent their love thru emails & phone calls. tho
it's hard, but both never thought of giving up.
One day, while the gal was on her way to work, she was knocked down by a car
that lost control. When she woke up, she saw her parents beside her bed. She
realised that she was badly injured.
Seeing her mum crying, she wanted to comfort her. But she realized that all
that could come out of her mouth was just a sigh. she' has lost her
voice....
The doctors says that the impact on her brain has caused her to lose her
voice. Listening to her parents' comfort, but with nothing coming out from
her, she broke down. During the stay in hospital, besides silence cry,..
it's still just silence cry that accompanied her.
Upon reaching home, everything seems to be the same. Except for the ringing
tone of the phone. Which pierced into her heart everytime it ring.
She does not wish to let the guy know. & not wanting to be a burden to him,
she wrote a letter to him saying that she does not wish to wait any longer.
With that, she sent the ring back to him. In return, the guy sent millions &
millions of reply, countless of phonecalls,.. all the gal could do, besides
crying, is still crying.... The parents decided to move away, hoping that
she could eventually forget everything & be happy. With a new environment,
the gal learn sign language & started a new life. Telling herself everyday
that she must forget the guy. One day, her friend came &
told her that he's back. She asked her friend not to let him know what
happened to her. Since then, there wasn't anymore news of him.
A year has passed & her friend cam! e with an envelope, containing a
invitation card for the guy's wedding. The gal was shattered. When she open
the letter, she saw her name in it instead. When she was about to ask her
friend wat's going on, she saw the guy standing in front of her. He used
sign language telling her "I've spent a year's time to learn sign language.
Just to let you know that I've not forgotten our promise. Let me have the
chance to be your voice. I
Love You."
With that, he slipped the ring back into her finger. The gal finally smiled.
