Back upstairs, the living room was 25 feet long and mostly a sterile white.  It was rather sparsely furnished at first.  This picture was taken on March 31, 1963, ten weeks after we moved in.

We've rearranged the furniture to put the large curved white sofa in front of the bow window, which is offscreen to the right.   In the lower right corner of the photo, on the near side of the sofa you can see part of the piano.  The organ is in the opposite corner of the room, and in the entry hall beyond is our 1949 AM/FM radio and record player (with 45- and 78-rpm turntables in separate drawers).

The TV could be found in the somewhat smaller "family room" off to the left.  It was not updated to color until two years later.
