In the truck, we graphics people need to be able to see the score and time on a monitor. Therefore, there has to be a camera inside the arena aimed at the scoreboard. But which scoreboard? The top photo shows one of the auxiliary boards, which are in each end zone on the facing of the upper deck. Unfortunately, the two teams' scores are a mile apart. The bottom photo shows the main scoreboard that hangs over midcourt. Unfortunately, at the moment it is showing neither score nor time. We are told that the main scoreboard will in fact function as a scoreboard during the game, but I would not be surprised if the score were replaced by replays and other features during pauses in the action. If that happens, we'll have to rely on our courtside statisticians to read the end zone scoreboard to us. |
