Fittingly, the song now playing is Green Day 'Basket Case' so...Do you have the time to listen to me whine...fuck it just read on and you'll get the idea... I never seem to be able to say what i mean, probably cos i don't have anythng to say...but right now im gonna have a good go: BMX pisses me off at the moment. There is too much elitism, with people bitching about what bike someone rides, what tricks they do, how they set their bikes up etc etc... BMX isn't about listening to punk, or buying from rider owned companies, it's about having a laff with ya mates, riding your bikes. Im sick of all the stereotypes who say things like 'don't ride Mongoose/GT/Big name bike', buying rider owned does not mak you a 'real' BMXer, buying rider owned is far from keeping it real, if you are all so down with 'keeping it real' then i suggest you look back into BMX past and see that Mongoose/GT/Un-cool bike manufacturer is the very same companies that started this whole damm thing off. If ya wanna take the oppositie view, i could say that these rider companies, (hoffman/standard excepted cos theyve been in it for ages) are the sell outs who are cashing in on all this elitism. OK i don't believe that either but it's just another point of view. If someone does tricks, thats up to them, if you try and keep smooth thats up to you. Peronally i try and keep smooth, and nibble with a few tricks, but i don't think there is a right or wrong, the only thing to keep is RIDING. SO SHUT UP MOANING, AND GET YOUR ASS OUTSIDE AND RIDE YA BIKE, THE MOMENT IT STOPS BEING FUN IS THE MOMENT YOU SHOULD LEAVE US FROM OUR SPORT. |
