Now we must remember Darien isn't just Darien. He's Also Tuxedo Mask, Roses and all. As Tuxedo Mask he is protector of the Sailor Scouts and he always comes just at the moment they need him most. Well, almost always. He was bad temporarily, and while he was bad he alternated from Tuxedo Mask and Prince Darien. But Queen Berryl prefered he go as Tuxedo Mask because she felt he was a weak spot in the Sailor Scouts and that they wouldn't be able to fight him that way. Boy was SHE wrong! Jupiter called him a traitor, Venus made sure everyone else knew he was a traitor, and timid little Mercury actually fought him for her friends that he held prisoner ( the rainbow crystal carriers). But most of the time Tuxedo Mask is an ally of good.

When Darien lost his memory
His soul became The Moon Light Knight. The Moon Light Knight would help the scouts whenever they really needed him. He was very mysterious and the scouts never could've guessed he was Darien's soul. Lita thought he was Alan. Guess she didn't notice the black hair sticking out beneath the turban!



And, we can't forget his highness Prince Darien. Who was mostly evil, but we breifly saw, back in the good ol days on the moon kingdom, a good Prince Darien. He was a prince from earth who fell in love with the moon princess (sniff) but the moon palace guards thought he might have something to do with the evil energy taking over so he was gonna leave but Serena wouldn't let him and they both got caught up in Berryl's rath and, well, you know the rest! Not to mention later on, in the future, Darien would be King of the Moon.

As for Darien himself, well he hasn't had it easy either. For the longest time nobody including Darien knew who Tuxedo Mask was. (Serena thought it was Andrew) Darien would get a headache and then turn into Tuxedo Mask. As soon as the adventure was over he would forget it all. Later on he realized he was Tuxedo Mask, but he still didn't have much of a family, because his parents died when he was little. He wasn't even sure if his name was Darien.

Also we can't forget how loved Darien was. Ann fell for him big time, I believe all the scouts had a crush on him as Tuxedo Mask, and even Queen Beryl wanted him as her new King. Why he was so admired that Molly's geeky friend Melvin went around dressed up like him, wanting to fight crime!


And he started out hateing Serena, who hated him back, while Rei had a crush on him. But soon Cupid got off his duff and the Moon couple were together again!
So the next time you look at Darien,
really look at him-
He's pretty complex!!
Darien has fought with the Negaverse and against it. He's fought with Serena, for Serena, and against Serena. If that isn't complex, i don't know what is!
Of course, Serena and Darein's relationship can pretty much be described as complex, too!!!!
