Coulthard: World title is already beyond me

McLaren driver David Coulthard has written off his chances of becoming World Champion after just two races. The scot has failed to score a single point this season and is already 14 points behind the leader (M.Schumacher) and will have to hope that ultra-reliable Ferrari falters atleast three times and DC wins the next two races just to catch up.

The 30-year-old said yesterday "I'm already an outside chance because I have got to win the next two races just to get myself back in the hunt and thats not going to be easy" he also continued with "Now I have to re-appraise the energy I put into that focus because, at the moment, it is no good me aiming there when I havent even scored a point yet.

The McLaren Technical Director Norbert Haug has apologied to Coulthard for the failures and says the team will analysis the telemetry to try and see where the faults are.
