The Adventures of an American in Israel for 9 months.
3/13/08 I got to do my favorite job

As of this week, everyone has finally begun working with irrigation tubing. Since my favorite job involved it to begin with, there's not much change for me. I worked for two days this week transporting tubing to a farm near Ashkelon. I've had three different drivers for each of the three days I've done it (the third time was two weeks ago). Yesterday's driver, however, was completely new. He was somewhat sluggish with the crane that we use to load the reels onto the truck, and whenever something didn't work, he would ask me "what's wrong," even thought I didn't know. I should have said "I don't know, you tell me!"

Both of the drivers from this week had spent time in the United States. The one from yesterday even has family there.

As for this shabbat, there are only four of us staying from this part of the program on the kibbutz. I don't know how many are coming, but it's going to be really empty this weekend.
