Viva Las Vegas!

INT. VIVA LAS VEGAS! CABARET AND CASINO - NIGHT

The Viva Las Vegas! Cabaret and Casino is one of the most stunning theme, er, tribute restaurants in America, with it’s vibrant colors and dizzying razzle dazzle. The ceiling stands over the massive structure, resembling a night sky, millions of small lights represent stars and an overhead spotlight represents the moon and hangs over the stage, a platform right in the middle of the restaurant.

Currently, a young woman is doing a diva-like rendition of “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” as couples dance on the dance floor in front of her, with colored lights built into the bottom.

Posters from classic Las Vegas movies ("OCEAN’S 11", "DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER", and of course "VIVA LAS VEGAS!") and Vegas favorites are all over the wall. There’s a fully stocked bar, with the bartender entertaining the people on bar stools with plenty of showmanship and colorful conversation.

The booths that the patrons sit in are made out to look kinda like hotel rooms with fish tanks in the wall. There is also a big screen in the back that plays B & W footage of the strip and fabulous stars and the like. The waitresses and waiters are made up as Vegas icons: FRANK SINATRA, SAMMY DAVIS JR., DEAN MARTIN, SEIGFRIED and ROY, TOM JONES, LIBERACE and the man himself, the King ELVIS PRESLEY wait on tables wearing appropriate costumes. Angel and Demonica are escorted to their table near the stage by a hostess dressed as a showgirl. After being seated, they’re handed colorful menus with various specials named after people and casino terms.

DEMONICA

Isn’t this wild?!

ANGEL

As wild as a three ring circus.

She looks around for a bit.

ANGEL

Looks like a peacock threw up in here…

DEMONICA

Are you still tripping balls? Have you lost the Stendhal? ‘Cause I don’t want you “seizuring” or anything…

Angel waves her off. They start studying their menus.

ANGEL

What are you gonna order?

DEMONICA

A big, beefy steak. I have a powerful lust for red meat.

“JERRY LEWIS”, comes over. He trips a little, and then looks back, as if someone tripped him and he’s trying to catch the Wisenheimer. He sounds and looks a lot like Lewis, a great exaggerarator.

“JERRY”

Good evening, LADIES! What can do for you, on this great day?

DEMONICA

How many times a day do you have to say that?

”JERRY”

More than I could recall…

ANGEL

Don’t mind her…I’ll have the Siegfried and Roy Hamburger and Fries, please.

He writes it down on a little pad.

”JERRY”

Would you like that burnt to a crisp or rare as a virgin Showgirl?

ANGEL

Burnt, please.

”JERRY”

And to drink?

ANGEL

Water with ice, please.

He turns his attention to Demonica.

DEMONICA

I’ll have the King-sized sirloin stack, burnt, with a Vanilla Coke.

He writes that down and takes their menus.

”JERRY”

I’ll be right back with your orders, LADIES!

He walks away, as Demonica shouts back at him:

DEMONICA

I loved you in “The Nutty Professor”!

(To Angel)

This is fun, huh?

ANGEL

It’s like I died and went to Swingers Heaven.

DEMONICA

You wanna dance?

ANGEL

Not particularly.

DEMONICA

Aww, man! Another song’s starting!

Indeed, there is another song has started. A young man, dressed as WAYNE NEWTON takes the stage as “Danke Shoen” starts up. New couples take the dance floor, as a blue spotlight cascades over them.

ANGEL

No, thanks. I am not going to slow dance with you.

DEMONICA

Why not?!

Angel just looks at her.

DEMONICA

You never want to do anything!

Angel shakes her head.

DEMONICA

You’re lame! Where’s Jerry Lewis? I’ll dance with him!

ANGEL

You wanna go to the casino later?

DEMONICA

Not really. I’d be nice though. I hear it’s one of the best…

ANGEL

Within a five-mile radius, I’m sure.

“Jerry” comes back with their orders on a large tray.

”JERRY”

S & R Burger and Fries.

Sets it down.

”JERRY”

With water. And a Sirloin Stack.

Sets it down.

”JERRY”

With a Vanilla Coke. If you ladies need anything else, don’t be afraid to scream.

He starts to walk away.

DEMONICA

He didn’t say LADIES! That’s coming out of his tip.

They begin to eat as “The Rat Pack” takes the stage and does bits and sings a little bit of a medley.
