I get lost, in your eyes And I feel my spirits rise And soar like the wind Is it love that I am in? I get weak in a glance Isn't this what's called romance? And that's what I know Cause when I'm lost I can't let go

I don't mind Not knowing what I'm headed for You can take me to the skies It's like being lost in heaven When I'm lost in your eyes

I just felt Don't know why Something is there I can't deny Ooh, when I first knew Was when I first looked at you

And if I Can't find my way If salvation Seems miles away Oh, I'll be found When I'm lost in your eyes

I get weak in a glance Isn't this what's called romance Oh, I'll be found When I am lost In your eyes.

Isaac - It's just a constant growth. It's still very much kind of you know, just rock n roll, pop/rock music.

Taylor - It's not lighter music.. it's not lighter. It's more just.. your writing changes. I mean, I don't know.. for a lot of people that aren't familiar with the last record. I mean, that was a lot more, you know "rock n roll", I guess. I think there is a sense of the way we've approached production and kind of the spacing and the simplicity of it. I think we really want to capture something we didn't get before. Oh, you know, I want people to be able to hear each part distinctly and I want it... that sense of kind of just organic- band vibe. And then also the way that we are writing songs, I dont know, just the flavor of the songs is a little bit different.

Isaac - I've said this several times. I mean, I have friends that are in bands and things like that of similiar age, and it's kind of funny because in the pop genre of things, it is really hard for people to really respect a pop band for just being a pop band. You know, It's like, I don't have to have some particulary gruff voice, or you know, be anything but just a pop band and somebody should hopefully be able to kind of say, okay, well they write good songs and I appreciate that. But most of the time its really, really hard. Because especially in the pop genre, you're always kind of defending yourself. It's like... No really, I am a musician!, I really do do this. Yeah, this really does come out of me. I just sit around and I play music and this is what comes and this is what I feel and it doesn't make any more or less authentic necessarily, so.. you know.

Taylor - We just sort of want people to see Hanson at this stage right now because we're just really pumped about what we're coming up with.

Memories light the corner of my mind.

~The Way We Were, Barbara Streisand

Ooo.. does everyone remember when this classic picture came out? We do! :)

Unlike most of the popular boy bands, the brothers Hanson really play their own instruments and write their own songs. Their family-friendly brand of rock-n-roll is catchy, thoughtful, and sells like soda at the beach. One album alone, Middle of Nowhere, has sold in excess of eight million copies.

"Yeah," shudders Zac, who looks like svelte blonde Buddha, "imagine all the 80-year-olds who are gonna still have these perfect bodies from plastic surgery!"

"It's a strange oxymoron," Taylor says, revealing the effects of homeschooling. "People will call us corny because having a sense of yourself and being respectful are uncool."

~Modern Maturity, July/August 2001

Monday, February 10, 2003

"Yeah," adds Isaac, shaking his head, "piercing yourself and having sex with everything and doing tons of drugs is actually more acceptable than being smart and respecting yourself."

"I mean, if you're told by the crowd to be yourself, to be an individualist, then you're still just following the crowd," Taylor says earnestly. "Just live your life with passion. Find people you care about and hold them close, and then find the thing you love, whether it's writing or being an accountant or surfing, and just do it, right?" <:P> ~Modern Maturity, July/August 2001

CNN: What's a typical day like for you when you're not working?

Zac: We're always doing something. I don't think there is a typical day in your lifestyle. You're either on tour or promoting your record or working on your new album or demo'ing or something like that. But if you're off, if you have time completely off, it would probably be something like riding motorcycles, throwing paintball, rock climbing.

CNN: What do you say to critics who blame Hanson for jump-starting the whole boy-band craze?

Taylor: I don't think one band can take credit for a whole group of people coming out. I think it all existed and it was waiting to be revived again. Our music is so different in a lot of ways that I think that it's hard to compare us to those bands at this point. I'm definitely not weird about it, because the music speaks for itself.

In my dreams I'll always see your soul above the sky In my heart, there always be a place for you all my life I'll keep a part of you with me And everywhere I am, there you'll be.

Well our opinion is no it is not a cool thing to jump on stage. We don't want anyone to be doing that. We love to have excited fans and we hate it when anyone gets hurt at the show, it is very important that everyone has a good time.

I think music is for everyone and I hope that the music that we do is also that way. I feel like we are expressing emotions that everyone feels, therefore everyone can identify with them, both young or old.

Well, I think there's kind of a misconception of being a rock star and living a certain lifestyle. That is all based on the person and based on the way they want to look. We just love to do this, because we love to make music and we love to play for you guys!

It is really cool to be able to do what you love as a career. I've been very lucky that way. You never take it for granted, that is for sure.

heytay says: Hanson, how do you feel about your family being exposed to the lime light?

Isaac: I think that Taylor and Zac and I being exposed or famous is cool and weird at the same time. But that is fine, that is something that we have chosen, we wanted to do. We chose music and that was our choice. With regards to the rest of our family, I don't think it is cool when people follow our family members around or take photos, they are not trying to and they don't want to be in the lime light. You hope that people will respect that.

I think our relationship is unlike some siblings relationships. We get along pretty well. We don't have too many spats. We are more like friends than brothers, I guess you could say. We get along very well.

Taysbabe-guest: What's the most exciting thing you've done so far?

Taylor: Well, if you are talking about pure excitement, besides walking on to a surging excited crowd. Recently we were at an awesome amusement park and went on water rides and that was very exciting!

nsynk_grl says: How does music change your life?

Taylor: In a lot of way music is a huge part of my life. It is something that I've been in to for almost all my life.

Hanson: It is my way of expressing myself, I think that without music I would be a very different person.

~Taylor, Cosmogirl Chat, August 2000

"I don't see why I can't be home-schooled, like the boys from Hanson. Look how they turned out."

~Princess in the Spotlight

Tuesday, February 25, 2003

Actually, it's really a bit scary when people go -- actually I got a little bit annoyed with it on the last record, because people were like, "Man, you guys write your own songs, and play your own instruments and sing great," and I'm like, "Wait a second -- these are things that people are pointing out as really unique, positive attributes?" I mean wait a second - that's normal stuff.

Hopefully we as a band are encouraging people to find something they enjoy and to pursue it. I hope they find inspiration in the music in some way.

Fans have done a lot of things some of which I won't mention. But whenever you get to hear a cool story about changing someone's life or someone coming from very long distances to see you, that is always really cool.
