The night was cold, but he didn't seem to mind. No wind could cool the burning hatred he possessed. He looked up towards the night sky. The moon was consumed by endless grey clouds. All that was left was the chilling darkness. Perfect for what he was about to do. He looked down at the katana in his hand. A weapon to rid the one who has become an evil which must be stopped.

With katana in hand, he entered the evil fortress. The place was huge with many paths yet, he always chose the right path. He was no stranger to this place. A place where one calls home.

Two men caught sight of him. Bad mistake. They tried to stop him from going any further. He had no time for them. He unsheathed his sword and with a swift swing, slashed one across the throat. Blood sprayed on the wall and stained his katana. The other ran back attempting to inform his master but, was stopped when the katana opened a heavy gash across his back. Pity. He didn't intend to kill them but, whoever stood in his way, must forever vanish from this world.

As he neared the entrance of a large room, he could hear voices beyond the door. His victim was not alone.

He kicked down the door to find his victim with a woman. Dear sister-in-law. She screamed at the sight of the blood stained sword in his hand. His victim however, remained quite calm. He was always like that.

"Koji! What do you think you're doing?" his victim asked.

"Erasing your existence so you will no longer do any harm to him."

"So, a knight coming to avenge his princess. Pity that knight will lose his life here!"

Having said so, his victim reached for his own katana and struck at him. Koji defended with his katana. His movements were strong and graceful as he had always been. His victim knew this. Leaving the two, the woman ran out in terror.

"It's futile," said Koji as the two katanas locked. "You can never defeat me!"

He broke out of the lock and before his victim could defend, he brought his katana down and stabbed it at him. The sword plunged into his victim's stomach. His katana dropped to the floor. Blood gushed out from his wound.

"Is that all you can do, Koji? Is that all that your Izumi is worth?" Even with a blade in his stomach, his victim still mocked him.

Koji's eyes narrowed in anger then he twisted his katana in his hands, making the blade twist in his victim's stomach. His victim let out a scream of agonising pain.

"Did you think I would let you go that easy?" asked Koji. "I'll make your suffering a thousand times more painful that the pain you inflicted on him. Know his suffering."

"Hirose!"

An intruder arrived. He picked up Hirose's katana and attacked Koji causing him to pull out the blade to defend himself. The intruder continued on to attack him.

"I'll kill you, bastard!" said the intruder.

Koji smiled. Ever since they were young, his skill surpassed his two elder brothers. Defeating him would be easier than anyone. Koji knocked the sword out of his hands and opened a gash on the side of his face.

"Akihito!"

Seeing the fall of his younger brother, Hirose picked up the sword and attacked, hoping to kill the murderous demon. However, Koji was quick to see the attack coming. He turned his blade towards Hirose but at the last second, Akihito ran in between them to protect his brother from the fatal blade.

Koji's sword plunged into his chest and portruded from his back. Koji pulled the sword out as Akihito fell to the floor. Hirose was filled with rage.

"You bastard!" Hirose gripped his sword and with a loud roar, attacked Koji.

Koji stood and waited for Hirose's attack. As Hirose was only inches from him, Koji ducked to the side and at the same time, slashed him across the chest. When Hirose turned to face Koji, he saw Koji's blade at his neck. He froze. Koji leaned close to him.

"Die, brother," he whispered in his ears.

He stood at the gates of the large manor wiping the last stain of blood on his katana. He took one last look at the evil fortress which now seemed dead. A faint smile appeared on his thin lips. All was done. He sheathed his katana and walked away into the night.

The woman watched from a corner as he disappeared. She returned to the room with tears staining her eyes. She prayed as she neared the room. But no amount of praying could prepare her for what she saw.

The room was covered in a pool of blood and there in the center of the room was the head of her husband detached from its body.
