Hampus joined Taiga at a stage when Taiga was really nothing.
There was no structure and they had not came up with a
"Taiga-sound" jet. But with the releaze of "A Thrill for a kill",
just two months after Hampus joined in, things started to happend
with the music. It didn't take long for Hampus and Jonas to get to
know each-other on the musiclevel, which soon gave results in many
nice peaces of progressive metal. Allthough the sound started to
improve itself, it didn't became what we really wanted until a few
months ago with the releaze of Mist and The Howels Song.
Hampus is also responsible for the artwork and the designing of this page!Background:
I was born where I live today, not on the spot of my room but here in Norrköping. I grew up with my one year younger sister and my parents. My mature behaviour started in early years with lots of fighting with playmates in the backyards... will never forget those bloody noses created by me. From there things started to get really bad. Within the age of four I joined several bicyclegangs who let everyone know about our presens whereever we did our noisy raids. We put playingcards in our wheels just to get even louder in our performance... Can you imagine how crazy I really was?
When starting first grade I suddently realized that I could draw quite well. My friends thought so too and lend me their books so I could draw pornographics. I managed quite well and even my teacher thought so... there was called to a meeting with my parents. Ever since I've drawn porno to my dear father... (only half-serious) Until the age of ten I allways wanted to become a cartooncreator. It's still a dream but ever since I started playing the drums, music is what I want to do for a living. I got my first drumset when my tenth birthday took place and I still consider it the best present I've ever got! I joined courses and have played the drums in a special school for nine years! I had to quit though when I finished highscool. I got to old! ME?! TO OLD?! No, that doesn't sound right at all... If I'll walk my fathers steps, I'll never get to old for anything. He's fourtysix and still consider poop the funniest thing ever spoken of. I guess I'm walking my fathers steps after all...
My first band saw light of day when I started fifth grade. Me and two classmates started a coverband called Samsara. So far I think those years were the funniest of my life! We went on "tour" to Västerås, Jönköping and in several places here in Norrköping. We were considered quite lousy but cute.. I can live with that.. after all, WE had fun during our performances and as a mather of fact, that was all that meant something back than. Kind of miss those days.. but I've bin there once and that's enough.. But as all stories even this one had to come to an end. We lost our place to practise and soon, after quite lazy attempt to continue, Samsara was no longer.. It still gets me in a sad mood thinking of that.. I'll better move on so I can stop thinking of that..
The years went on.. I started to let my beard grow out.. nothing happend so I continued pretending I was shaving everyday.. I nearly jumped of my drumlessons but, to my great luck, my father talked me out of those stupid ideas! I am still thankfull for that. But it felt kind of hopeless not having a band.. I was playing in several orcestras but it wasn't really my kind of music and those were the years when you wanted to be just so cool you knew you never would be.. I prefered not to play in an orcestra and instead search for other cool guys to start playing my own music, metal. I never found those cool guys, I ended up with Taiga instead... :P It was actually quite scary to come to the "adition". I had never met any of them, just talked to Jonas over the phone. We got in touch through a childhoodfriend of mine who was a classmate of Jonas. But as you might guess I had nothing to worry about! They were stunned and I was excepted as a member! :)
Interest/hobbies:
Except music, which I think is quite obvious, I really enjoy reading, writing and painting/drawing. I have started writing four books but, for some stupid reason, not finished a single one of them. One is soon to be finished though. It's about this boy who, just like myself, not fancy the idea of having a regular parttime job, coming home to an angry wife who is not ready with dinner, feed a bunch of lazy kids screaming for my money so they can smoke behind my back, take an uggly dog for walking, pay of on a house too expensive to own and so on... Instead he wants, just like me once againg, earn his living on music and take the days as they comes. Prepared or not! Let the life begin! Or something like that..
As I mentioned before, drawing is one of my favourite doings. Unfortunatly I haven't been to active lately due to several things. Time is one issue.. I study to become a programer and that takes time and not to forget that I'm playing the drums in two active bands; Taiga and The Sunny Sonny Shakin' Machine!
