Nion and his sister are Shainon's right- and left-hands. The trio rule almost equally: they always discuss decisions before they are made, but it is Shainon who has the final say. Nion and Phryon's tasks are a little more menial than Shainon's. Where he is plunging on ahead, the siblings are making sure he is being followed closely. While Phryon is more direct and merciless with her methods, Nion is more placating.

° Hair
Nick's straight, dark-brown hair is usually held back with a piece of leather or cloth such as a bandana. The hair around the nape of his neck is cut very short, and a thick, sun-streaked forelock falls about his eyes.
° Eyes
Light brown and slightly widely-spaced, they hold the eagerness of youth that has somehow not been quenched by his violent life on the run.
° Physique
Tall and muscularly-lean, with the legginess of an athlete such as a runner or a martial artist.
° Appearance
Nion has a flat, squarish face that while angular, manages to keep a boyish cuteness about it. His nose is wide, slightly short and with a low bridge. His complexion is a rich, medium, brownish tone, slightly less orange than terra-cotta.

° Attitude
Nion is very much the student in his relationship with Shainon. He looks to Shane as a little brother does to his elder, using his example as a way to learn from his own mistakes. While he is only a few years younger than their pack leader, Nion has been sheltered more than the former; he shows promise to be a good leader someday, without displaying the ambition to take over as pack leader.
